Newsec and BNP Paribas Real Estate acted together as commercial advisor for Patrizia in the sale of a datacenter property in Finland

PATRIZIA Immobilien AG has sold a datacenter property in Finland on behalf of its Büro-Invest Europa I fund in December 2017. The recently refurbished datacenter is located in the Helsinki Metropolitan area and is also one of the largest colocation datacenter properties in Finland.

Newsec acted as the vendor's commercial advisor in co-operation with BNP Paribas Real Estate and its Data Center Solutions Team. Hannes Snellman acted as the vendor's legal advisor.

Rikke Lykke, PATRIZIA's Managing Director for the Nordics, says PATRIZIA has actively managed the asset, and increased the value of the property through its successful conversion to data centre. "It was the right time to sell the property. Finland is an attractive location for data centres, which is also an increasingly interesting investment class." she explains.

Toni Perätalo, Partner at Newsec says: "It was great to work in close co-operation with our international alliance partner BNP Paribas Real Estate, and especially with their datacenter specialist Arno Petzold in this interesting and tightly timelined transaction project. As a property investment segment datacenters are not that well-known nowadays, but the future looks different. I'm happy we were able to provide our transaction advisory services successfully also in this datacenter project."
